Becoming a GoBy delivery driver is a straightforward 4-step process. Here's everything you need to know, from your first click to your first delivery:

📋 STEP 1 — Create Your Driver Account
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Go to your franchise website and click "Become a Driver" or navigate to /driver/register/.

Fill in the following fields:
• First Name — Your legal first name (max 100 characters)
• Last Name — Your legal last name (max 100 characters)
• Email Address — Must be valid, unique, and accessible by you
• Phone Number — Include country code (e.g., +20 for Egypt, +1 for USA, +966 for Saudi Arabia)
• Password — Minimum 8 characters, must include:
✓ Uppercase letter (A-Z)
✓ Lowercase letter (a-z)
✓ Number (0-9)
✓ Special character (!@#$%^&*)

🔵 Or click "Continue with Google" to register instantly using your Google account. This skips the OTP step since Google already verifies your email.

✅ STEP 2 — Verify Your Email (OTP)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
After submitting Step 1, a 6-digit OTP code is sent to your email.

• Open your email and find the message from GoBy.
• Enter the 6-digit code on the verification screen.
• ⏳ The code is valid for 10 minutes.
• 🔄 Maximum 3 attempts per code.
• 📩 Click "Resend" if the code doesn't arrive. Old codes are automatically invalidated.

💡 If you used Google Sign-Up, this step is skipped automatically — you go straight to Step 3.

After successful verification, you are automatically logged in and redirected to the Vehicle & Documents form.

🚗 STEP 3 — Vehicle Information & Document Upload
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
This is the onboarding step where you provide your vehicle and identity documents.

📌 Select Your Vehicle Type:
• 🚗 Car
• 🏍️ Motorcycle
• 🛵 Scooter (Electric)
• 🚲 Bicycle
• 🚐 Van
• 🚚 Truck
• 🚶 Walking

📄 Documents Required — ALL Drivers:
• National ID / Government ID — Front side (upload photo/scan)
• National ID / Government ID — Back side (upload photo/scan)

📄 Additional Documents — Motorized Vehicles (Car, Motorcycle, Scooter, Van, Truck):
• Driving License Number
• Vehicle Registration / Plate Number

🚲 Bicycle / Walking Drivers:
Only government ID is required — no license or registration needed.

📸 Document Photo Requirements:
• Clear, well-lit images with all 4 corners visible
• No glare, shadows, or blurring
• Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, PDF
• Maximum file size: 5 MB per file

📌 Region-Specific Notes:
• 🇪🇬 Egypt: بطاقة الرقم القومي (National ID) + رخصة القيادة + رخصة المركبة
• 🇺🇸 USA: State-issued Driver's License + Vehicle Registration + Proof of Insurance
• Other regions may have additional requirements shown on the form.

⏳ STEP 4 — Pending Verification & Approval
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
After submitting your documents, your application enters the review queue.

📊 Application Status Progression:
🟡 Pending — Your application is in the queue
🔵 Under Review — An admin is actively reviewing your documents
🟢 Approved — Congratulations! You can go online and start delivering
🔴 Rejected — Documents were insufficient (see reason and resubmit)

⏱️ Typical Review Time: 24 to 48 hours.

📧 You will receive an email notification when your status changes.

🔍 You can check your status anytime by logging in — you'll be redirected to the "Driver Onboarding Pending" page which shows your current status, checklist of completed steps, and any blocking reasons.

🔑 What Happens After Approval?
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Once approved, you can:
✓ Access your Driver Dashboard
✓ Toggle your status to "Online" to receive delivery requests
✓ Accept or decline incoming delivery orders
✓ Navigate to restaurants and customers using the built-in map
✓ Track your earnings, tips, and performance metrics
✓ Set up your payout method for receiving payments

❌ What If My Application Is Rejected?

• The rejection reason will be displayed on your application status page.
• Common reasons: blurry documents, expired license, mismatched vehicle info.
• You can re-upload corrected documents and resubmit.
• Contact support if you believe the rejection was in error.

After you submit your documents in Step 3, your application enters a verification queue. Here's what to expect:

Your status shows a checklist of completed steps:
✓ Email Verified — Your email has been confirmed
✓ Documents Uploaded — Your ID and license are submitted
⏳ Documents Approved — Awaiting admin review
⏳ Account Approved — Final activation pending
○ Payout Method Set — You'll set this up after approval

🔄 What Can Speed Up Approval?

• Submit clear, high-quality document photos.
• Make sure your license is not expired.
• Ensure vehicle registration matches the vehicle type you selected.
• Double-check that both sides of your ID are uploaded.

📌 You can log out and come back anytime — your progress is saved. When you log in, you'll be automatically redirected to your current step.

To register as a GoBy delivery driver, you must upload the following documents:

📄 Required Documents:
1. Government-issued ID — Front and back sides (National ID, State ID, or Passport)
2. Driving License — Must be valid and not expired
3. Vehicle Registration — Matching your vehicle type selection
4. Proof of Insurance — Required in USA and select regions

🚲 For bicycle/walking drivers:
Only a government-issued ID is required (no driving license or vehicle registration needed).
